This calculator follows the affective assessment of the SCA Coffee Value Assessment (SCA Standard 104-2024) and uses its published score formula. It is an independent Coffearium tool, not made, reviewed or endorsed by the Specialty Coffee Association.

Uses the score formula the SCA publishes (A System to Assess Coffee Value, 2024, section 8.5), which reproduces the conversion table in SCA Standard 104-2024: a straight line through all 5s = 79 and all 9s = 100, minus 2 per non-uniform and 4 per defective cup, rounded to 0.25. A defective cup also counts as non-uniform unless all cups are defective, and defective cups count only once the defect type is chosen. The standard uses five cups per sample; with fewer cups, scores are not strictly comparable. An independent tool, not made or endorsed by the SCA.
